Dr. Sakeena Haq DPM, M.Ed grew up in the Chicagoland area. Dr. Haq graduated from Carthage College in Kenosha Wisconsin with a bachelor’s in education in 1994. Then she went on to complete her master’s in education at National Louis University in 1999. Dr. Haq taught in the public-school setting before she went on to pursue a career in medicine. She graduated Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in 2006. She completed her residency training in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital Medical Center, a level 1 trauma center, in Chicago, IL in 2008. She was in private practice from 2008 to 2019. As of 2019, Dr. Haq is a practicing podiatric physician at Elmhurst Clinic part of Edward Elmhurst Health, in Naperville, IL. In addition, she is a managing partner and Chief Medical Office for Walgreen Health Solutions.

Her professional affiliations include American Board of Podiatric Medicine, American Podiatric Medical Association, Illinois Podiatric Medical Association, American Diabetes Association, NPIAP as a Corporate Advisory Council and member, and American Professional Wound Care Association.

Given her experience as a Podiatric Physician and Surgeon, Dr. Haq has seen firsthand how a pressure injury can cause serious complications in patients with different comorbidities which can ultimately lead to amputation. As a result, Dr. Haq is an advocate for pressure injury prevention and treatment.
